Sussex under-13 finals throws up a Chichester champion

CHICHESTER’S Alyssa White emerged as champion in the Sussex under-13 track and field championships with a convincing win in the 70m hurdles.

Her time of 12.26 in the final was too good for her rivals and earned her selection for the Sussex team at the inter-counties at Kingston later in the season.

There was nearly a second medal for White but she was pipped into fouth place in the 75m final when her 10.41sec finish was one hundredth of a second behind the bronze-medal time.

In the same competition, Leo Stallard had a good run for seventh place in the 1,200m in a time of 4.09min.
