You can give a new sport a ‘tri’ in Bognor

Bognor Triathlon & Endurance Sports Club are now into their second year and are enrolling new members.

BTESC hold weekly organised runs, road and mountain bike rides and coached gym-and-swim sessions in a fun and supportive environment.

With cycling and triathlon sports becoming the fastest-growing sports at the moment, it’s no wonder BTESC are growing in strength and members.

Current members range from complete novices taking part in their first triathlons to the more experienced athletes training for events like the ironman in July.

What BTESC have found is that cyclists and runners are held back from competing in triathlons because they are not strong swimmers, which is why they have invested in weekly coached swimming sessions at The Arena sports centre.

One of BTESC members has now swum her first mile (64 lengths) after initially joining as a non-swimmer - she now has a love for swimming and has entered her first triathlon this year.
