For the third year running, Toby Harries from Westbourne House School is a national champion in the 100m and 200m.
It is an outstanding effort for Sussex at the Independent Schools Championships and means Harries is the fastest under-14 boy in the country among independent school pupils.
Harries (pictured above) competed in the under-14 100m, winning his heat in 12.08 – the fastest time out of three heats – and then going on to finish first in the final and win the gold.
His times were slower because of rain – his personal best this year has been 11.35.
Harries went on to compete in the under-14 200m, winning his heat and again having the fastest time out of three heats, and winning the final for another gold.
His double haul was a great reward for all the work he has put in this year.
