Date set for athletes to go flat out in Fishbourne

The 8th annual Fishbourne Flat Five will take place on Sunday, July 8.

This hugely popular event will, as usual, be a five-mile run or walk following the traditional course around Chichester Harbour.

Participants will meet at the Fishbourne Centre at 9.45am with the event starting at 10am. It is aimed at competitive runners and first-timers as well as individuals or groups who enjoy walking round the harbour.

Money will be raised for the new children’s play area in Fishbourne.

Co-organiser Geoff Hand said: “The play area task group is very grateful to everyone involved in this year’s Fishbourne Flat Five. The money raised will provide local children with exciting play activities and help their social, physical and mental development so that they will lead healthier lives as future adults.” For entries go to www.fishbourneflatfive.co.uk
