With three weeks until the first race in the 2013 Chichester Corporate Challenge road races, interest seems to be greater than ever in both the senior and schools categories.

With the senior distance a relatively manageable 4,500m, those involved in the recently-formed Run Britain beginners’ initiative started in the autumn by members of Chichester Runners plan to treat the series as a first opportunity for the group to line up in a competitive event.

Luckily the senior section has always featured separate A and B races so the experienced faster athletes using the races as a good speed-sharpening exercise will be well out of the way to make the event for beginners less

daunting.

The schools races are sure to be a closely-fought as in recent years with large fields expected in both the primary and secondary age groups.

With the first of the three evenings on February 27, just after the half-term break, schools will have to be quick off the blocks to make a good first mark in both individual and team standings.

The second and third races are on March 13 and March 27.

Entry forms are on the Chichester Runners noticeboard at Westgate Leisure or can be downloaded from the Chichester Corporate Challenge website.
