A second seven-race card of the week is staged at Goodwood this afternoon (May 9).

It’s a first appearance of 2013 on the course for ambassador Hayley Turner and a number of other jockeys who missed Saturday’s opening fixture because they were at the 2,000 Guineas meeting.

And there are the first Goodwood entries of the season from Mark Johnston, who was the track’s top handler last year with 12 wins, taking the Dick Hern Trophy from Richard Hannon, who’d held it for four years.

Our tips for Thursday’s Goodwood card: 1.55 Morpheus, 2.30 Lucky Henry, 3.00 Lanark, 3.30 Ribbons, 4.05 Aye Aye Digby, 4.40 Beat Route, 5.15 Shwaiman.
