SUSSEX CCC have chosen Bognor Cricket Club as the first venue for a series of special roadshows where youngsters can get some expert coaching.

The Hawthorn Road club will be the venue for the event tomorrow (April 8), between 10am and 3pm.

Sussex Cricket in the Community are running the roadshow which will feature qualified coaches in the first of a series of sessions designed for all, including those that have never tried cricket.

You do not have to be a member of Bognor or any other cricket club to attend.

Seven to 13-year-olds can take part but places must be booked direct with Sussex via www.sussexcricket.co.uk/holiday-roadshows

Players can turn up on the day, but that will be on a first-come first-served basis. The cost is £15.

Mike Broad, chairman of Bognor’s colts section, said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming Sussex Cricket in the Community to our ground.

“It will be a fantastic, fun event. Sussex have invested significantly in this holiday roadshow, and we at Bognor CC are so pleased to play our part in making cricket fun for all.”

Bognor CC chairman Simon Crundwell said: “We are a club with strong community links so it seemed such a perfect fit when the chance came to host.

“We are very pleased to be the first club in Sussex to host such an event. I look forward to welcoming visitors from around the area, not just from Bognor.”
