FONTWELL hosts another afternoon of jump racing (April 19) – and it may be worth following the favourites.

At last Thursday’s meeting, unusually, six of the eight races were won by the horse that went off as favourite.

Noel Fehily set the tone by guiding Charlie Longsdon-trained 4/6 favourite Up To Something to victory in the first division of the split Weatherbys Hamilton Insurance Novices’ Hurdle.

Five more favourites followed him into the winners’ enclosure, with the Alan Blackmore-handled Occasionally Yours (12/1) in the totepool.com Handicap Hurdle the only long-priced winner.

Friday’s (April 19) card starts at 1.50pm with the hardingscatering.co.uk Mares’ Novices Hurdle.

Our tips: 1.50 Definite Ruby, 2.20 Financial Climate, 2.50 Occasionally Yours, 3.25 Peut Etre Sivola, 4.00 Midnight Choice, 4.35 Marie Deja La, 5.05 Porters War, 5.35 Milosam.
