A day full of sunshine ensured day two of Goodwood Revival was a resounding success.
The event was brought alive by a stunning mix of classic cars, amazing aviation, inventive period dress and a wealth of live entertainment.
There is no shortage of things to see and do - the Revival high street even has its own period-style Tesco enhanced by an incredible range of products in their original packaging, and a hairdressers on site so women can get the perfect victory rolls.
Tracey Chappelhow (pictured) travelled from the Midlands with her husband to come to Revival, and made her union jack dress herself.
She said: “It’s brilliant, we’re definitely coming again.
“I bought the fabric for my dress to reflect the Jubilee, Olympics, Team GB, and I found my Vogue back in a little boutique in Corfu and thought it would go really nicely with my frock.”
Tracey wasn’t the only one getting into the Revival spirit as visitors were dressed in clothing from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s.
Pop-up shops include Chichester’s own vintage boutique Vintage Chi, which sells everything you need to step back in time.
The Goodwood team have put on an inventive display of period enactments including the home guard, air hostesses and land girls, and a bobby was patrolling the site on his bicycle.
Genuine ice cream vans and police cars from the 1950’s help to achieve an entirely authentic feel, and even the ambulances and fire trucks were adhering to the rules.
As for the cars, Maserati, Ford, BMW, Jaguar and Mercedes are among those displaying new models alongside those from their heritage collections.
Cars raced for a number of trophies including the Goodwood Trophy and the Fordwater Trophy, and crowds gathered to watch the excitement as the engines revved and the flags came down.
