THE FINALE of this year’s MADhurst Festival, on August Bank Holiday Monday, will start at 12.30pm with the annual procession through the town.
The theme of the procession this year will be heart and the MADhurst festival committee with Midhurst Town Council are encouraging businesses, clubs and organisations to get involved.
MADhurst chairman Simon Goodale said: “We have chosen a suitably broad theme for this year’s carnival procession to inspire participants to come up with their own ideas and interpretation which fits well with the overall MADhurst creative philosophy.”
The grand finale procession of this year’s festival will start from the Market Square and Church Hill area of Midhurst.
Event manager Steve Morley suggested the new location provided for a greater number of procession entries.
“The new start point provides more flexibility in setting up the procession before it reaches the main route which will be through North Street, and gives us the ability to welcome more participants,” he said.
“We would like to build on last year’s carnival numbers.”
He urged people interested in being part of the procession to contact the council to register their interest.
“The MADhurst carnival is a wonderful climax to our week of festivities and we would like the MADhurst procession to start the party in a big way,” he said.
“To make this happen please make contact with us as soon as possible and become part of our colourful event.”
