With a little help from our friends, it’s the Festival of Chichester!

DON’T FORGET TO SEE THIS WEEK’S CHICHESTER OBSERVER FOR EIGHT-PAGE FESTIVAL SOUVENIR SUPPLEMENT.

Huge thanks to go Concept Audio on the eve of the Festival of Chichester.

Festival organisers have planned a wide range of music and fun on Chichester Cathedral Green this Saturday afternoon (June 14) from around 2pm to mark the start of the month-long arts and community extravaganza.

But a little of the launch-day fun was jeopardised earlier this week when the intended amplification fell through.

The Festival committee came up with contingency plans plus contingency plans to their contingency plans.

But it was Festival co-ordinator Barry Smith who drew on his contacts to find a replacement provider at the 11th hour.

The Festival is hugely grateful to Concept Audio, Elbridge Farm Business Centre, Bognor Regis, who stepped in to help.

“Key man at Concept is Danny who heads a team providing great sound systems and lighting rig hire, set-ups for gigs, shows, theatre and tours,” Barry said.

The company has agreed to help on Saturday free of charge.

Offering hundreds of events across a huge range of activities, from walks to music, from theatre to art, from world to classical, from blues to soul, the Festival of Chichester opens on Saturday and runs until Sunday, July 13.

Organisers are predicting that it will bring many more smiling faces to Chichester than the World Cup will!
