OPERA Brava, the leading outdoor touring opera company in Britain, returns for a fifth year to Petworth House this week.
The company will be performing The Barber of Seville on Friday August 3, and Madam Butterfly on Saturday August 4. Time for both is 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £27.50 in advance for adults, £35 on the gate, and £10 for children. The box office number is 01444 443000.
The Barber of Seville is performed by professional national and international opera singers who have worked with major companies such as English National Opera and Covent Garden. Nadine Mortimer-Smith, a rising star in the opera world, takes the role of Madam Butterfly in the story of a beautiful young geisha who sacrifices her family, her religion and, ultimately, her life for her American husband, who buys her love while stationed in Japan with no intention of ever taking her home to America.
