His first venture into production uses the talents of six recently-graduated drama students, a witty and thought-provoking script by Eugene Ambrose and two professional directors who bring their own interpretations of the same genderless play.

Matthew said: “Set in a prison in the nineteen seventies, Barred Freedom deals with the understanding of contentment in confinement, both physically and mentally.

Wentworth 6649 is a first timer. Dawson is a young ‘old’ hand. When forced together, the conflict of class, education and language comes to the fore. Wentworth sees bars and bricks and is resolved on suicide as the only means of escape until Dawson reveals another.”

Matthew is producing the comedy drama with all-male and all-female casts playing on alternate nights.
