The festival, which took place on Saturday, saw a carnival procession of floats, bands and majorettes making their way through the village to the recreation ground, where a fun fair, car show and cheerleading routines were just some of the attractions.
The procession was led by residents David Alford and Alan Kenny, closely followed by The Medina Band, the carnival princess, Daisy Kool,10, her two attendants, Lauren Irwin and Lydia Allam, both eight, and pageboys Matthew May, nine, and Alex Pegler, six.
Margaret Alford, chair of the festival committee, said: "It was a great success – a fantastic day. We were so lucky with the weather. We would like to thank everyone who supported and helped us on the day."
The winning float in the procession was the Ashington Tiny Tots elves and fairies.
The money raised from the festival is still being counted but will be put towards next year's event as well as being used to give grants to groups in the village.
