Demolition worries
SEAFORD Town Council members have voted for The Collectors Market in Church Lane to be saved from demolition.
A planning application has been made to knock down the building, which is in a Conservation Area, and build a pair of flats.
A town council planning meeting recommended Lewes District Council reject the bid. Cllr Les Whittle was worried another shop would be lost to make way for housing. Cllr Gilly Cowdrey said: 'Conservation Area means conserve, not just keep what is financially viable.'
The plan will now go before the district council for its consideration.
