Hollenden House permission expected
Officers will advise members of the Rother planning committee to allow the derelict ex-serviceman's home, Hollenden House, to be demolished and replaced by 43 private and 28 affordable flats.
The site, on Buckhurst Road, is adjacent to St Peter and St Paul Primary School.

Hide AdA decision had been deferred at a previous meeting, as councillors sought a scheme with reduced impact on the neighbouring Rayford Court and more parking.
Rother head of planning Frank Rallings will tell members in his report he believes the problems have been overcome in the amended application by The Park Lane Group
He said: "The development makes full and efficient use of a 'brownfield' site.
"By reason of its design, bulk and size (as modified) the development will be acceptable in an area of mixed character and respect the amenities of adjoining residents and the school.
"The scheme necessitates highway improvements and affordable housing which can be obtained through a legal agreement."
