In a recent survey, more than 90 per cent of Rother respondents said they feel safe during the day in their area, whereas only four per cent said there were a few areas in the district where they feel less safe. Police officers and representatives of the Partnership will be available at Battle High Street on Thursday February 25, 3-4pm, to listen to residents about the types of crime and anti-social behaviour that are of most concern to them, as well as to answer any questions about community safety. Police and partners will work with residents on the problems identified to come up with initiatives to address them. Chief Inspector Heather Keating, chair of the Safer Rother Partnership, said: "By coming along to these events to tell us what matters in Battle High Street, residents and people from local businesses will be shaping our priorities and directly influencing the action partners will take over the next few weeks and months to improve local people's quality of life." Other events will take place at Bexhill and Rye. Sussex Police and other members of the Safer Rother Partnership will also be giving out crime prevention advice and items at the event, as well as surveying residents to find out how safe they feel and which issues cause them to feel unsafe.
