Trio gain national boxing award
The three were part of a group of young people, ranging from 10-15 years of age, who took part in a 'Boxing 4 Fitness' course set up by the Positive Futures team in the YDS.
The whole group has now achieved theAmateur Boxing Association of England's (ABAE) preliminary award for non-contact boxing.

Hide AdThe six week course is an intensive programme which covers a range of boxing skills and fitness. In addition to learning practical skills, the course aims to increase confidence and self-esteem and encourages the development of participation, social and personal skills. The 'Boxing 4 Fitness course' is one of many such initiatives in the Hastings, Eastbourne and Rother areas organised by the YDS through its participation in the national 'Positive Futures' programme.
Aimed at young people aged between 10 - 19years, 'Positive Futures' delivers a mixture of community sport sessions and targeted sessions in partnership with secondary schools and various other youth agencies.
