Morrisons is giving a 10% discount to ‘Blue Light’ workers this Christmas - here’s how to see if you’re eligible

Members of the emergency services and armed forces with a Blue Light Card will now be able to get 10% off their shopping in Morrisons stores nationwide. The discount, which is available from today, follows on from the 10% discount offered by Morrisons to NHS and School Staff across the United Kingdom. The Blue Light Card is a recognised national scheme available to members of the emergency services, social care sector, and armed forces in the UK. David Potts, Morrisons Chief Executive, said: “Our emergency services, social care sector and armed forces have worked tirelessly this year to provide support to the many people who need it across the UK, often in exceptionally difficult circumstances. This discount is a thank you for all that they have done and continue to do for us all.” How does the discount work? Shoppers who have a valid Blue Light ID can present their card at the checkout of their shop. The discount is valid till after Christmas, and can be used with a Morrisons More card and any promotional coupons or Morrisons £5 voucher. Card holders can claim the 10% discount on their groceries by presenting their Blue Light ID card at the till in any of Morrisons 498 stores nationwide. There are currently 2.3 million people signed up for the Blue Light Card in the UK, and it is the country’s biggest discount service for members of the emergency services. Those in the Ambulance Service, Border Force, British Army, Fire Service, HM Coastguard, Prison Service, Police, Red Cross, Reserve Armed Force, Royal Air Force, Royal Marines, and Royal Navy are all eligible for the discount as well as Social Care Workers, HM Armed Forces Veterans, Community First Responders, and Second Line Responders. The Blue Light Card provides those in the NHS, emergency services, social care sector, and armed forces with discounts online and in-store.
