Burgess Hill Runners hunt down lower key events
The weekend was started off with the super-quick James Collins setting an amazing new 5k PB of 17:25 at the Oxford Parkrun. On Sunday several BHR traveled to Henfield for their difficult, annual 9-mile event which runs along the old railway line and along the side of the Adur.
Trevor Symes led the blue shirted runners home in 1:09:40 followed by Janet Clapton (1:22:13), Sally Symes (1:24:13), Sheryl Caldecourt (1:26:10) and Emma James (1:32:53). Meanwhile, Jon Boxall and Carole Mills were busy setting personal bests at the Surrey Half Marathon with fantastic times of 1:24:39 and 2:00:50 respectively. Neil Grigg was pleased with a time of 2:17:12 at the Milton Keynes 20 mile event (part of the MK Festival of Running) following his recent great form in longer distance events.

Hide AdClub coach Ian Jones was at the 15 mile ‘Big Cheese’ trail run in Cheddar, Somerset which is classed as a category B fell race. Finally, Philippe Ecaille traded his running shoes for his bicycle and took part ‘Le Puncheur’, a 65 mile cyclosportive event from Ditchling Beacon taking in approximately 1,700m of climb.
