Goals and more goals - but not all at right end
At Littlehampton on Wednesday last week, City trounced the opposition 5-1 in a Peter Bentley Cup quarter-final tie.
Golds’ defender Josh Bates put the ball into his own net to give Chichester an early advantage before Josh Clack equalised.

Hide AdA long ball forward on 40 minutes allowed Lewis Edwards to make it 2-1, but after the interval City had to soak up some serious pressure with keeper Anthony Ender playing a blinder and the woodwork rescuing the visitors on at least two occasions.
With quarter-of-an-hour remaining, Chichester struck three times in quick succession through Alex Ansa and Graham Bush (2), with Littlehampton getting caught on the break as they pushed men forward.
Three days later at Oaklands Park, City weren’t at their best against Lancing and eventually lost 4-3 despite taking the lead through Michael Frangou inside the first minute.
Lancing levelled on nine minutes when Lewis Finney crossed for Owen Callaghan to steer the ball past reserve keeper Austin Holden.

On 51 minutes it was 2-2 when Finney’s free-kick was headed in by Tyler Goatcher, and shortly after Holden was unable to hold Mike Williamson’s shot and the rebound was turned by Callaghan.
Finney scored direct from a free-kick to give Lancing a 4-2 lead, but a late City goal from substitute Dan Hegarty led to a nail-biting finish in treacherous conditions.
