Cooden Millennium Townswomen's Guild

MOST of our members turned up for our annual meeting.

Our chairperson Mrs Freda Appleyard opened the proceedings and welcomed us all with her usual amusing jokes.

Then down to business. Mrs Dorothy Adams our secretary read out the minutes of the last annual meeting and our last meeting, both were agreed and signed. Our treasurer Mrs Frances Abbott said finances were good and healthy. We then went on to any other business, outings etc were discussed and some agreed. Then we had our tea break. After tea "Mrs Merryweather" - suitably dressed (alias Ms Ann Kilbrick) gave a very amusing account of her attendance at a cookery school. Having been sent! then Mrs Freda Appleyard read one of Pam Ayres funny poems.

These items were much enjoyed by all. The raffle was drawn and a "Cup" was presented to Mrs Irene Hollingsworth for winning the most monthly competitions in the year, she also won it last year. She seems to have the most interesting and diverse amount of "things" to exhibit. The new chairperson Mrs Kaye Murphy and her committee (a lot of whom were restanding) were introduced and the afternoon came to a close.

Anyone is welcome to come and be our guests on the first Wednesday afternoon in the month, 2-4pm.
