THE GOLDEN TREE

ITS branches moved with such artistryOn this very beautiful and graceful treeAnd you saw white flowers in abundancy

From spring through to summer

Bees sought their pollen there

And birds and butterflies

Were also aware

Then one day the tree was no more

It had come under the teeth of a garde chain saw

I can still see the lovely canopy

And the vision of what was once, a thing of beauty.
