Wilko included in Electric Palace summer music season

It launches on Friday August 14, with No Manifesto: A film about the Manic Street Preachers, and continues until Saturday September 26.

Music journalist, comedy writer and Hastings resident David Quantick is host for many of the events. No doubt he’ll regale audiences with anecdotes about his encounters with bands featured in the season, during his time working for music magazines like NME, Q and Uncut, as well as biographies of The Clash, Beck and Eddie Izzard. His TV writing credits include The Day Today, The Thick of It and TV Burp and he presents Radio 2’s Blaggers Guide. Recently he’s been working on Veep with Armando Iannucci.

Screening on August 28 is Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck, a profile of the grunge music star. Carol Morley’s 60s drama The Falling (September 10 and 12) follows next and includes an atmospheric soundtrack by Tracey Thorn from Everything But The Girl.
