“It’s so great to be able to expand the business in hard economic times,” he said.

People need some fun in their lives, especially at the moment, and they can do that at The Fitness Playground which is probably why we are doing so well.”

Rich started up REfit because he wanted adults to have fun when they exercise. That’s when he came up with the idea for The Fitness and Weightloss Playground.

He runs sack races, wheelbarrow races, and uses space-hoppers and other playground props to make the workout more enjoyable.

Previously, he ran two evening sessions a week in Chichester, as well as an additional two in the daytime.

Now, Claudia will take on a further four in Bognor Regis.

“We seem to have a demand in the Bognor area so Claudia came on board,” Rich said.

The pair still run personal training sessions and classes alongside The Fitness Playground.

“The point is to make fitness fun, not just going to the gym every day and doing a boring workout,” said Rich.

“Kids have fun and they are exercising while being active and we want to bring that back into adult fitness. Our current members are losing weight, getting fitter and having fun – it’s great!”

On where he wants the business to go next, he hopes he can eventually expand further and take the business where the demand is.

“I love training people and helping them turn their life around and want to continue to change people’s attitudes towards fitness,” said new recruit Claudia.
