The 4.8-acre site off New Barn Lane, located next to the Jubilee Recreation Ground and Jubilee Hall, is being developed by Bellway Wessex.

Rookery Park, as the development is to be known, will comprise 35 homes for private sale, including a range of two, three and four-bedroom properties.

The remaining 15 homes, featuring a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom properties, will be made available as affordable housing for rent or shared ownership.

The development, which includes 125 car parking spaces and covered and secured cycle spaces, will be served by an access road from New Barn Lane.

Existing trees and hedges on the site will be retained and enhanced.

Shaun Pettitt, Regional Director of Bellway Wessex, said: “Our Rookery Park development will deliver a range of high-quality homes in an accessible village location on the edge of Bognor Regis so the council’s decision to approve the scheme is a positive move for people looking to get on or move up the housing ladder.

“There will be a mix of houses and apartments to cater for a variety of buyers, as well as a significant proportion of affordable homes to meet local demand, and great care will be taken to preserve and enhance the natural landscape around the built development.

“All the homes at Rookery Park will be from our Artisan Collection, a new range of houses which combines traditional craftsmanship and attention to detail with the very latest construction techniques, and we are very much looking forward to showcasing these new designs to buyers.

“We plan to start construction work on site in July and to release the first homes for sale early next year.”
