With hardly any weddings taking place at the moment her bridal couture business, like many others, has hit hard times with a collapse in orders, she has turned her talents to making fabric face masks which are for sale to the public.

“Every member of the public now needs to wear a fabric face mask to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus,” Kasia, who is based near Midhurst, explained.

"I hope I can do something constructive to support people in these troubled times."

While waiting for business to recover Kasia has opened up a new venture making individually designed face masks using both commercial and recycled fabric that meets the UK Government requirements for public use when travelling or moving around in other confined spaces.

She usually provides brides with stunning gowns for their special day while showing the way she is now creating comfortable, functional and effective face masks for adults and young children. The multi-layer fabric masks are complemented by elastic loops and contain fine metal edging to ensure a close fit around the bridge of the nose. The masks are hand-washable and can be re-used many times. The masks are different to the usual clinical face masks used by health professionals and do not interfere with the supply of these essential items to the

front line of hospitals, care homes and GPs.

They cost £9.95 each and 10 per cent of all proceeds will be donated to NHS Charities.

“It has given me a positive focus in a time of uncertainty for my business” commented Kasia, “but when I stopped and thought about it for a moment, it’s not every day you get a chance to help reduce the impact of a life-threatening illness - it feels like a very worthwhile endeavour.”
