Fiver Fest Bognor Regis: All you need to know about the two weeks of special £5 offers

Independent businesses in Bognor Regis are offering special £5 offers over the next couple of weeks as part of Totally Locally’s national Fiver Fest event.

Bognor Regis BID has teamed up with Totally Locally for Fiver Fest, which aims to highlight the contribution of independent shops and businesses to our high street.

Shops, cafes, gyms, therapists, restaurants, pubs and businesses across Bognor Regis are taking part by putting on special £5 deals for the duration of the campaign – look out for posters around town and online promoting the Fiver Fest offers.

Jason Passingham, Bognor Regis BID chairman, said: “Fiver Fest is a national success, with thousands of independent shops and businesses getting involved. We have an eclectic and vibrant community of independent shops and businesses in Bognor Regis, and Fiver Fest gives us the perfect opportunity to showcase them and offer some great deals to the people of Bognor Regis and beyond.

“We know people’s shopping habits are changing, and we’re not trying to turn back the clock. However, this campaign really highlights the benefit of choosing to shop with local independent businesses when you can.

“Whether shoppers are looking to buy a coffee, or a birthday card, the initiative will encourage shoppers to think about how their choices can impact the local economy, no matter how ‘small’.”

Totally Locally estimates that if every adult in Bognor Regis spent £5 a week in their local shops and businesses, instead of online or at a big supermarket, it would be worth £4.7million to the local economy.

Fiver Fest has been running in towns across the UK and abroad for the past seven years.

In October 63 towns from all over the UK took part in the fortnightly event.

Totally Locally’s Chris Sands said: “We know Fiver Fest isn’t going to change the world, but small changes in spending habits can really make a difference to our high streets. Just by diverting £5 of our weekly spend to local independents we give them a fighting chance to thrive. It’s a conversation worth having!”

Some of the businesses already signed up to take part in Fiver Fest Bognor are: Mustards Bar and Restaurant, Good and Fair, Legends Health and Fitness, Sweet Flamingo, Warrens Bakery and GB Music.

Fiver Fest runs from February 15-29.
