GCSE results: ‘Exceptional performance’ at Millais School

The long-standing head teacher said: “I am delighted to be celebrating another year of exceptional performance which reflects the tremendous hard work of the staff and pupils.”
Star performers were Lorna Cook and Sophie Gunning, who each achieved A*s across the board.

Hide AdIn total, 84 per cent of pupils earned five GCSEs between A* to C including English and maths, with 90 per cent receiving A*-C in English and 85 per cent in maths.
The English Baccalaureate - five or more A* to C grades including English, maths, science, a modern language and history or geography - was achieved by 58 per cent of pupils.
A large number of girls picked up great results, with 14 per cent of pupils achieving ten or more A* or A grades.
