The new covered outside play area and classroom and grassed area outside the early years class rooms was completed in 2019 and has already made a huge difference to year round outdoor learning and play for the younger children who attend the special needs school in Burgess Hill.

The fundraising for this area came from the result of the hard work and generosity of some Woodlands Meed parents and supporters.

Wickwoods Country Club also chose Woodlands Meed as their charitable cause for two years to help raise the considerable funds needed to complete this project.

Adam Rowland, headteacher of Woodlands Meed, said: "Thank you to those responsible for the fundraising.

"This just would not have been possible without the remarkable fundraising efforts made by Hannah, Matt, Anna, Richard and Wickwoods - we are hugely grateful for all their considerable efforts and those who generously supported them along the way.

"This outdoor area has already made a huge difference to the outdoor learning and play opportunities for our youngest pupils and will continue to do so for many years to come."
