New figures show the tragic number of coronavirus deaths that have taken place across different areas in Chichester.

Chichester saw a total of 77 coronavirus deaths in the three months between March 1 and May 31, according to the new figures from the Office for National Statistics.

The break-down by ward is as follows:

– Easebourne and Petworth, 17

– Fernhurst and Northchapel, 16

– College Lane and Oaklands, 10

– Southbourne, Bosham and Thorney, 8

– Central Chichester, 7

– Wittering and Birdham, 7

– Selsey, 4

– Ifold and Wisborough Green, 2

– Dean, Lavant and Summersdale, 2

– Milland and South Harting, 1

– Westbourne and Funtington, 1

– Stockbridge and Fishbourne, 1

– Midhurst and Cocking, 1

– Tangmere, Mundham and Hunston, 0

In Fernhurst and Northchapel, deaths by coronavirus accounted for the highest percentage of all deaths during this time period (53 per cent).
