Boris Johnson is expected to announce tougher restrictions to curb the spread of the virus, which has been accelerated by the emergence of a new, more contagious strain.

According to government statistics, the latest coronavirus rate for Chichester for the week ending December 31, is: 424 cases per 100,000 people – 514 new cases, an increase of 223 from the week before.
