Midhurst hosts mobile coronavirus testing unit
Midhurst is currently hosting a mobile coronavirus testing unit.
The unit at The Grange in Midhurst is being operated by military staff who have received special training.
It is one of several mobile units being deployed across Sussex to help ensure essential keyworkers have quick and easy access to testing.
Testing at the unit is by pre-booked appointment only and is available for essential key workers – such as NHS staff, social workers, care home and hospice staff, teachers and police and their household members – in line with the latest government guidance.
This helps to prevent the spread of the virus and enables self-isolating staff to return to work if they are clear of the virus.
The mobile testing units have been coordinated by the Sussex Resilience Forum and introduced in addition to the nationally-run drive-through facilities at Gatwick and Brighton and the locally-run drive-through facilities at Bexhill and Bognor.
Essential key workers, and people who live with essential key workers, can get tested through the essential key work website here.
For essential key workers with symptoms who are unable to travel, testing is available at home through a number of community testing vehicles.
Members of the public with symptoms can get also tested – for more information, and to book a test, click here.
