Cuts to public health budgets in England have disproportionately impacted the Midlands and the North of England, according to new analysis by the think tanks, IPPR and IPPR North. Overall, public health budgets in England have been cut by £13.20 per person since 2014, and the areas which have seen the worst cuts have also seen some of the worst mortality rates from Covid. These are the areas which have seen the highest cuts to public health funding per person.
