Vintage and Steam returns to open air museum

Step back in time at Vintage and Steam and experience the nostalgic sights and sounds of an era when steam powered the country.

Visitors to the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum in Singleton can enjoy all the bustle and excitement of a traditional steam festival on Saturday and Sunday.

There with full-size and model steam engines on display and working around the museum’s 40-acre site, which is set in the South Downs National Park.

As well as an extensive selection of full-size steam engines, there will also be a wide range of exhibits, including commercial vehicles, military vehicles, miniature steam engines, narrow gauge railways, model boats and classic cars.

On Sunday, The Jaguar Enthusiasts Club, Portsmouth Region, will hold its annual club event at the show.

A popular attraction at Vintage and Steam is the gallopers ride, powered by a Fowler Showman’s steam engine, which is at the centre of a small traditional vintage fairground.

Visitors can also take a ride on the narrow gauge steam railway and enjoy displays in the arena, which will include the popular steer a steam engine.

The Vintage and Steam event is open from 10.30am to 5pm. Standard admission prices include entry to the event and tickets are available to buy online and on the day.
