“I got talking to the chef and said if they ever wanted to do anything with me then they should get in touch.”

The evening will include a six course dinner featuring roast rump of lamb or sea bream, wild mushroom arancini or chicken liver and foie gras parfait.

Gregg said: “People can expect nice food and maybe a food quiz.

“I will be there walking about sharing a glass of wine and if they want they can chat to me about Masterchef, How To Eat Well for Less, love or marriage.”

Gregg admits that he has spent some time in the county as his son went to University of Sussex in Brighton and he is looking forward to attending the event, sampling the food and chatting to local people.

Tickets for the event are priced at £85 each, to book call Crouchers’ reservations team on 01243784995
