A feast of high goal polo and champagne at Cowdray Park Gold Cup

MORE than 2000 spectators basked in the sunshine on Sunday July 20, at the prestigious final event of the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup on the polo lawns at Cowdray Park.

While they enjoyed their picnics of champagne and strawberries they were treated to a feast of high goal polo.

Battling it out on opposing teams were two of the eight ten goal players in the world.

Gonzalito Pieres played for the new King Power team of Thai patron ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha taking part in its first Gold Cup tournament.

Adolfo Cambiaso was on the opposing team of patron Rashid Albwardy and it was Dubai who came out the eventual winners after a neck and neck contest.
