A pint and a picture for locals at the Rising Sun, Milland

THERE’S something new to attract the locals at the award-winning Rising Sun pub in Milland

Landlord Ben Burston has donated an entire wall as a permanent gallery displaying the work of photographers and artists.

The work on show will be rotated every two months to allow as many talented people as possible from the surrounding area to share their work – and to keep the display fresh and interesting.

Exhibitors will be free to offer their work for sale.

“We’ve always had photos and artwork on the walls of the pub,” said Ben.

“But I’ve been wanting to provide a gallery for some time and I’m delighted we’ve now put it in place.

“It will be a great way for our talented photographers and artists to share their work and of course I hope it will prove to be an interesting and engaging feature for our customers.”

The gallery is open free to all who would like to show their work. Potential exhibitors should contact Ben or Mark Keohane on 07803 951 921.

The Riser was named best village pub of the year two months ago in London brewer Fuller’s, Griffin Trophy awards.

The award capped a great year for Ben, who was also given master cellarman status.
