THERE is everything on offer to view from abstracts, sea and landscapes to still life and portraits at Midhurst Art Society’s summer exhibition.

There are 500 pictures which have been chosen for display, the work of 58 artists, all members of one of the most successful and respected art groups in the South East.

The exhibition in the Memorial Hall at the bottom of North Street opens tomorrow (Wednesday August 5) after a private viewing tonight for invited guests.

It is open to the public from 10am-6pm, every day, ending at 4pm on Monday.

Chairman Michael Carter said: “We have a wide variety of pictures hanging in this year’s exhibition with everything from textured paintings, batik and pastilles to water colours and oils.”

He said the society was very proud of the high standard of work being exhibited by some 60 of its members.

With a total of around 120 members who come from as far away as Portsmouth, the Midhurst Art Society, is one of the most highly regarded groups in the area and its annual exhibition draws visitors from around the region.
