Amber weather alert remains, despite worst weather passing by.

Met Office warnings over heavy rain during the night appear to have resulted in fewer incidents than predicted.

While the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service received over 150 calls related to heavy rain, they have been mostly in the western part of the county, with Littlehampton, Worthing and Chichester suffering major flooding incidents.

Rivers are higher than normal, but not affecting transport in the region.

On the A259 (Marsh Road) at the Pevensey roundabout, a large amount of water is slowing commuting traffic.

Rail companies are reporting no service problems this morning, but electrical problems at Norwood Junction in South London means trains have ben hit by a 40 minute delay in that area.
