A SPATE of bag thefts were reported in Lewes town centre.

Between September 4 and 5 there were three separate incidents at Tesco, Waitrose and M & Co.
Lewes police have reminded shoppers to be more security conscious, not leave bags unattended on shopping trollies and to make sure handbags are kept closed.
