Banned from entering town

This is the first person to be banned from central Bognor Regis.

Duncan McDonald (19) faces jail if he enters a personal exclusion zone which encompasses the town centre. His ban lasts until November 2010.

He is also barred from engaging in an extensive list of anti social behaviour across all West and East Sussex. This includes being in the company of specific people in public.

Special posters and leaflets are being distributed todayto inform the public of the restrictions on McDonald. The 100 posters and 300 leaflets are being delivered to shops and homes around the town centre to encourage people to report McDonald if they see him breaching his order. They should immediately ring 999.

The draconian measures were imposed on McDonald, of no fixed address, by Chichester magistrates last Tuesday after he had committed a series of anti social acts around Bognor. The ban reflects the severity and persistence of his actions.

They include possession of an offensive weapon, verbal and physical abuse, causing harassment, alarm and offence to the public and being drunk. He has been involved in numerous incidents at shops and restaurants in Bognor town centre. McDonalds and KFC are among them.
