BARCOMBE STORES: Barcombe will lose its general stores and post office unless we, the community, can find a solution. The parish council is happy to front a rescue package, but ultimately the financing and operation of the business must be managed by an independent body.

To progress we must find out if we can raise significant funds, so the parish council will host an initial Willing Investors Meeting in the village hall, on Sunday at 2.30 pm. We welcome anyone who can contribute. In the first instance we propose shares starting at £500. There will be a presentation on the options, followed by a discussion. For those that can’t make the meeting or would prefer to remain anonymous, I can co-ordinate pledges via the e-mail address below. Alan Marler ([email protected])
