Barnham teenager celebrates 11 A* GCSE grades

A teenager from Barnham swept the board with an incredible 11 A* grades in her GCSEs.

Grace Owen-Ellis Clark, who attends Christ’s Hospital independent school in Horsham, was among the top scoring pupils with her fantastic results.

Grace said she was still in shock: “I couldn’t believe it at first, I kept refreshing the to make sure it was right, and then burst into tears.

“I guess the hard work was definitely worth it, I’m so thrilled. I’m now just really looking ahead to my A level choices.”

It was an excellent set of results for the school’s pupils and their teachers with 70.1 per cent of all grades at A* or A, 91.0 per cent gained A*-B and the overall pass rate was 99.9 per cent.

Head Master, John Franklin, said he was ‘absolutely delighted’.

“I fully recognise the hard work that lies behind these superb results both on the part of the pupils and their teachers, and I congratulate them on their achievements,” added Mr Franklin.

“The ethos at Christ’s Hospital is to ensure that each pupil achieves his or her very best.

“Focusing on academic accomplishments is vital, but equally important is enjoying a wide programme of co-curricular activities.

“We know that our approach to education helps our pupils to develop their individual abilities, such as initiative, creativity, reasoning, problem solving and team work.

“Such skills are essential for all future learning and we wish our pupils continued success as they embark on their A level or International Baccalaureate (IB) studies.”
