Battle Bawlers raise funds for Sasbah

EVERY Christmas, a group of musical friends from Battle come together to sing Christmas Carols.

Calling themselves the Battle Bawlers, the group performs in pubs and restaurants, raising money for charity.

Many of those lucky enough to hear them singing this year commented on the superb, intricate harmonies in their rendition of traditional favourites.

The group’s chosen charity this year was The Sussex Association for Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus (Sasbah).

Claire Bryant, deputy general manager at Sasbah, said: “It is wonderful to hear traditional carols sung so beautifully and to be able to raise funds through people’s appreciation.

“We would like to thank The Senlac, The Black Horse at Telham, The Bull, The Abbey Hotel, Simply Italian, and everyone who so generously donated on the night, for supporting the Battle Bawlers.

“£169.21 was raised to help maintain Sasbah’s services for those with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus both locally and throughout Sussex.”
