Beulah Baptist Holiday Club

More than 80 youngsters took part in holiday club at Beulah Baptist church.

The theme was The Supersonics which organiser Reverend Ed Jones felt had strong appeal.

There were two elements to the holiday club - one being the adventure side where a group of superheroes hunted down baddie Doctor Sneeze, and the other side a study of the Bible story of Moses.

Ed said: "We have had the best response yet with this club - over 80 places were pre-booked. It is great - there is such a good atmosphere having that number of kids. A number of them came from previous years and there are new ones also, either through advertising through schools or other links. We did a week of assemblies and sent out registration forms to all the schools who distributed them for us.

"I think the superhero element is a bit different, but I hope part of this is that in previous years the reputation of the week itself has grown.

"I want to have a lot of fun in what I do. In assemblies - and in this - although there is a serious point we want to get across, we want to have a lot of fun as well.

"I am just Ed, never Reverend. I am very comfortable with that and feel it builds a good relationship."
