Bexhill Caring Community's plea for tins

BEXHILL Caring Community is this week launching its Christmas Appeal for tins of food and dried goods.

These will be packed into hampers for the needy of the town and distributed during the middle of December.

Many organisations within Bexhill have been contacted and several churches and schools have already donated or promised to give produce from their Harvest Festival Celebrations.

Manager Margaret Von Speyr said: "Last year the Caring Community was able to help almost 200 people.

"As well as food items, money was donated by other organisations, individuals and from the raffle we organised.

"This enabled us to also purchase and distribute Sainsbury vouchers as well as plants for the recently bereaved.

"If anyone would like to help towards this very worthwhile cause or knows of any person who would benefit from receiving a hamper or plant, please telephone the office on 215116.
