Ann Wilson, Jo Roadway, Caroline Maynard and Tracey Meikle hope to cycle 450km next February and are appealing for sponsorship.

Ann said: “We will be funding all our own travel and accommodation costs but have a target to raise a minimum of £6,800 between us for Women versus Cancer. Women v Cancer supports the vital work of Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action.

“We were to be found last Saturday from 10am to 4pm on Bexhill seafront, cycling on static bikes and rattling collecting tins.

“The sun was shining so Bexhill was out in force. We got to cycle all day, meet wonderful people and we raised a staggering £560!

“The generosity and personal stories of the Bexhillians we met were both inspirational and overwhelming; thanks to all who stopped and supported us. We also want to give a big thank you to Stella and her team at The Old Bathing Station Kiosk for hosting us and the delicious coffee that kept us going.
