Bexhill Lions plea

LET no hearing equipment in this town of ours go to waste. That was the appeal from Bexhill Lions Club this week.

Bexhill Lions want all surplus hearing equipment, including Audiometers, Tympanometers and Analysers.

"In this digital age someone's scrap can be very much another person's jewel" said Community Service chairman Lion Brian Hood.

"To give someone the gift of hearing is a wonderful gesture '“ and if you find any unused size 675 or 13 batteries, they are like gold nuggets!"

The Lions' aim is to collect and redistribute all spares, unwanted and surplus hearing aids, ancillary hearing equipment and serviceable batteries.

In the majority of cases redistribution will be to emerging nations but cases have occurred where there is a need in developed countries.

Bexhill Lions have a bin for used spectacles in many opticians and doctors' surgeries, and now they are asking for unwanted hearing aids and equipment to be placed in there as well. Call the club secretary on 0845 833 9591.
