The 57-year-old from Shoreham-by-Sea was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton after his red Yamaha motorcycle was in collision with a black Audi A3 near Charlie’s Farm Shop, police said.

The car driver, a 32-year-old man from Horsham, was unhurt.

The 29 at Bury Hill is a notorious accident black spot.

Two weeks ago motorcyclist William Ruewell, 20, from Billingshurst died following a collision at the bottom of Bury Hill and in March of this year Oliver Bird, 37, from Shoreham lost his life in a crash about half a mile south.
